St Andrews degree programmes are spread throughout their 19 academic Schools, each of which is part of a Faculty: Arts, Science, Medicine or Divinity. Flexible degree structure

St Andrews has an incredibly flexible undergraduate degree structure. Students in the Faculties of Arts, Science and Divinity get the opportunity to study across a range of subjects in their first two years, allowing students to gain a broader understanding of various subjects before specialising in their final two years. They also offer integrated Masters programmes and direct entry into second year for some Science programmes. Students studying Medicine and their Masters programmes follow a set structure for their programme. 

Research-led teaching

St Andrews teaching and research staff are one and the same, meaning that the vast majority of their teaching staff are also research-active. The cutting edge research being done at St Andrews is then fed directly into the curriculum they teach to ensure that their students have the most up-to-date knowledge and skills.

Employability 

St Andrews programmes and extra-curricular activities are developed to produce outstanding and in-demand graduates with the skills needed in the 21st century workplace. They encourage all of their students to think about their employability and future from the beginning of their time with them; that’s why more than 96% of their graduates are in work or further study within six months of graduating (HESA, 2016).
